Looking After It
Two things keep this one soft. First, dry it flat: hanging a wet jumper lets the water pull the knit downwards, and it comes back longer in the body and wider at the shoulders. Second, skip the fabric softener — it coats the fluff and flattens exactly the texture she loves. A little shedding on the first wash or two is normal and settles down.
Washing and care
- Hand wash cool, or a gentle wool cycle, turned inside out
- No fabric softener — it flattens the soft pile
- Don't wring or twist it — press the water out gently
- Dry flat, reshaping it while it's damp
- Never hang it up wet, and keep it away from radiators
- No bleach
- Cool iron only if needed, with a cloth over the knit
- Fold it to store rather than hanging it on a hook
